In Dr. Sauer’s letter this month, he talks about the importance of starting your day off with protein. Here’s a protein packed recipe from Cathi!
STRAWBERRY BREAKFAST SMOOTHIE
4 large strawberries sliced
1/2 C water
5 ice cubes
1 2-inch chunk of zucchini, peeled and sliced.
2 2-inch chunk of green-tipped banana (not overly ripe)
dash of salt
1 scoop Dynamic Fruits and Greens powder (from Twin Oaks Health)
1 scoop of Pea protein powder (I use Swanson's)
1/4 teaspoon almond flavoring (if desired)
In blender, place all ingredients except the protein powder and blend for about one minute on high. Add the pea protein powder and blend an additional 20 seconds.
*This only works if you have added peas back into your diet. Enjoy for breakfast!
