So Your Telling Me You're Tired

One of the most common complaints that you may be having is being tired.

A patient will say “I am always tired, and it never used to be like this. What is going on!” As I hear this symptom over and over again one cannot help but wonder; why are they feeling tired. Why is the body always feeling like it does not have enough energy to make it thought the day?

Thyroid complications rarely happen on their own, most likely something else that is causing your thyroid to not operate appropriately.
 

One of the most common thyroid complaints that people have is being tired. A patient will say “I am always tired, and it never used to be like this. What is going on!” As I hear this symptom over and over again one cannot help but wonder; why are they feeling tired. Why is the body always feeling like it does not have enough energy to make it thought the day? Is the answer always thyroid to energy problems? Certainly Not! But the thyroid is very important for energy production and how you feel on a daily basis.


As my mentor Datis Kharrazian wisely said.

“Every cell in the body has receptor sites for thyroid hormones. Thyroid hormones are responsible for the most basic and fundamental aspect of physiology, the basal metabolic rate. Lack of ideal thyroid hormone leads to global decline in cellular function of all bodily systems. The thyroid is the central gear in the complex web of metabolism and is extremely sensitive to minor imbalances in other areas of physiology.”

What does that mean?

What the above quote is basically saying is that every cell in your body will respond to a thyroid hormone. Thyroid hormones give your cells energy to compete their job. If your thyroid function has decreased it can cause the cells in your body to not have enough energy to do their required tasks, leaving you feeling depleted. The body works on a cellular level by having cells complete tasks. If you are not producing enough thyroid hormone (T3 or T4) you will not have enough energy to digest your meal, concentrate on a difficult task feel like you are well rested, etc. This leads to further break down of the body.


Your Body is an Apartment

Picture your body like an apartment with poor renters they abuse the property, they put holes in the walls, break the windows and stain the carpet. The landlord does not evict them or repair any of the damage. Soon you will have an apartment that has a whole lot of problems! Your body will model that of the abused apartment in years to come, if your thyroid is not working properly. Those disrepairs appear in forms like diabetes, fibromyalgia, brain fog, osteoporosis, high cholesterol etc.
 

Thyroid disease is a big problem in America it can be a challenging condition to address appropriately. However, when proper thyroid health is achieved you have impacted the rest of the body and given it a better chance to avoid chronic diseases for the future.
